About Lirata

Lirata Ltd (www.lirata.com) is a small, independent not-for-profit organisation based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. We are a ‘social justice multiplier’ – we magnify the efforts of the many organisations and individuals working for positive change.

We operate as a social enterprise, delivering our work through consultancy, capacity building and systems advocacy. Each year we work on 25+ social impact projects across Australia. We partner with all tiers of government, service providers, peak bodies, advocacy organisations, socially engaged businesses and many others. We assist our partner organisations to plan, review, evaluate and further develop their work, to create positive community outcomes.

About this position

Our Administration Coordinator position is the key corporate services role in our organisation. In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and in collaboration with the other members of Lirata’s core staff. Your focus will be to ensure that organisational and project management systems function efficiently, effectively and consistently. This enables us to achieve our objectives on time, within budget and with high quality.

You will work across multiple areas of administration. Your core focus will cover:

  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Basic IT administration
  • Project administration and support
  • Governance, risk and compliance
  • Communications support
  • Office and event logistics.

Depending on your skills and areas of interest, there are opportunities to contribute to other areas of our work such as report editing, grant writing, policy development, knowledge management, data analysis, fundraising and more. We will look to you to continue to develop and document our organisational systems and processes.

This is a challenging role due to its breadth and the fast-paced environment in which we work. You will keep administration up to date across many concurrent projects and corporate areas. Your work will be an essential support for our core consultancy, capacity building and change making activities.

This position will involve a mix of work from home, and some onsite work. We have strong communication systems, frequent all-staff check-ins, and regular supervision to ensure that all staff feel connected and supported.

About you

You have a personal commitment to social justice. You have strong existing administration experience, especially in human resources and finance. You are a systems thinker with a track record of successfully developing organisational processes. At a personal level you are highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail and accuracy in your work.

You are great at communication and teamwork, and skilled at coordinating with colleagues. You have strong people skills and personal maturity. You communicate clearly but tactfully and enjoy helping people to understand and implement systems. You are capable in handling documents and data, confident with IT and able to quickly learn a range of new software packages.
