Lirata is a small organisation with a big vision. We rely on our supporters to be able to continue our work. Your contribution makes a real difference to the many social justice organisations that we assist each year.

Donate

Lirata receives no core funding and our income is generated mainly through our consultancy and capacity building services within our social enterprise. Donations are an important enabler for us to do more.

We accept donations to support specific aspects of our work.

  • Our accessible consultancy fund makes our services available to small and low-resourced organisations who would otherwise not be able to afford consultancy. Your donation helps to strengthen First Nations community led organisations, services working to end family violence, organisations working to protect the environment and prevent climate change, and others.
  • Our proactive social justice projects create innovative resources for social justice work. Projects in development include open-source cultural heritage software for First Nations communities, a toolkit of resources for advocacy evaluation, an intersectional inclusion framework for organisations, and more. Your donation towards a specific project helps to provide the funds for it to proceed.

All donated funds are managed carefully, separate from our general revenue, and applied only for the specific purpose for which they were given.

Donations to Lirata are not tax-deductible. This helps us to maintain our independence from government.

If you would like to donate, please contact us for details of how to do so.

Volunteer

Lirata is supported by a number of skilled volunteers who assist us with back-office tasks and in some cases with social justice project work.

Where specific volunteer roles are available, we advertise these on our Work with us page.

We are interested to hear from you if you have strong skills relevant to our work, and would like to volunteer some time with us. Current areas of focus for us include:

  • Website maintenance
  • Marketing
  • Desktop research
  • Management of our document library
  • Strategic planning

At the moment we are not accepting applications for student placements or internships, but we hope to do so again in future.

For all enquiries about volunteering, please contact us.

Partner with us

All of our social justice work occurs through partnerships. As a certified social enterprise, we engage with all tiers of government, service providers, peak bodies, advocacy organisations, socially engaged businesses, faith-based organisations, grassroots campaigners, and many others to create positive change.

Many of our partnerships occur through consultancy and capacity building projectsWe are also keen to explore broader partnerships, where we can contribute our skills and experience to joint projects on critical social justice issues.

Please contact us to discuss partnerships and collaborative projects.
