Lirata has made a public Statement in support of First Nations people, re-affirming our commitment to reconciliation through our Reconciliation Strategy. Opportunities to listen to and improve decision-making that impacts First Nations lives is an important process of reconciliation in action.

Lirata Consulting is respectful of the unsuccessful referendum to create Constitutional change enshrining an advisory Voice to Parliament for First Nations peoples of Australia. The opportunities to listen to and improve decision-making that impacts First Nations lives is an important process of reconciliation in action. We are aware that many Australians, particularly First Nations peoples, will have found this time challenging or stressful.

As a social-justice focused organisation, we see reconciliation as integral to Lirata and its mission. We are committed to an inclusive workplace culture and to ensuring that reconciliation extends into the projects Lirata undertakes in the community.

We reaffirm our commitment, set out in our Reconciliation Strategy, to contribute to positive and lasting change that supports the aspirations of First Nations Peoples across Australia to self-determination. Crucial to this is ensuring that First Nations voices are heard in relation to policies and decisions that affect them.

Reflecting on these commitments, Lirata CEO, Maria Brett, said: “I am proud that Lirata is committed to listening to and learning from First Nations Peoples. We encourage all Australians to do the same. We follow First Nations leadership, and support their vision to determine their own future, by actively working to implement our Reconciliation Strategy.”

We continue to celebrate and learn from First Nations culture, knowledge and ways of being, and to build mutually respectful connections with First Nations peoples. We aim to create a workplace that is welcoming and culturally safe, as we continue developing projects and initiatives based on ethical and moral principles and safe practices.
