Economic systems working as designed

Our world today sees unprecedented levels of inequality in wealth. A vast economic gap separates elites from those who are struggling to meet their basic needs. This disparity has been fuelled by neoliberal economic policies and an extractive global economic system that is designed to make a small number of people very rich. This system is not only harmful to most of humanity, but is also pushing us towards ecological collapse.

Signs of hope

Despite the trend, ending poverty is within our reach, and is an essential step toward a just and sustainable future for humanity. We work with our partners on projects that build individual skills and capabilities, and change the economic pathways open to people and communities.

Economic alternatives

We also work to reshape economic systems and social structures so that our societies can move towards sustainability, equity and shared prosperity. We are at the early stages of our work in this area, and are looking to partner with others who have an interest in developing and piloting practical, local economic alternatives.
