About this project

Lived experience leadership

The Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC) provides services to help people to help themselves recover from addiction across Victoria and nationally. SHARC is founded on the belief that people are experts in their own recovery, and the lived experience of those affected by addiction is central to SHARC's programs and services.

Clarifying purpose, guiding development

In 2023 Lirata is supporting SHARC to develop a new Strategic Plan that will clarify the organisation's purpose, values and intended impacts, and identify strategic priorities and objectives to guide SHARC's development over coming years. The strategic planning process is strongly consultative, with Lirata facilitating opportunities for participation and input from consumers, external stakeholders, staff and volunteers as well as Board and management.

In addition to the new strategic plan and values statement, Lirata is providing a report on consumer and stakeholder feedback to feed into the planning process. The process will help position SHARC to respond effectively to emerging opportunities and to its rapidly changing environment.
