Statewide Prevention Workforce Development Evaluation

Safe and Equal's Primary Prevention Unit is a leader in primary prevention of gender-based violence in Victoria. One of the unit's key initiatives is the Statewide Prevention Workforce Development Program, which works to increase workforce capability through training, Communities of Practice, development of knowledge resources, and sector events.

Evaluation partnership

Lirata is supporting the Primary Prevention Unit via a multi-year Evaluation Capacity Building partnership. Together we are co‐designing and co‐facilitating a process that actively engages the PPU team in evaluation processes. The whole process is informed by an intersectional feminist lens and approach.

Within this partnership, Lirata has provided capacity building workshops and flexible mentoring and advice to Safe and Equal staff as they implement evaluation processes. Lirata has also supported the PPU team to develop Theories of Change and Program Logics, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Frameworks, MEL implementation plans, and data collection tools and processes. Where required, Lirata assists with specialist data collection, and contributed to the development of evaluation reports.

This partnership supports Safe and Equal's ongoing learning and program improvement, to enable the most effective possible capacity building within the primary prevention sector. Ultimately this helps strengthen gender equality and keep the community safe from gender-based violence.
